FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
"Think nutrition; Ask a Dietitian."
WHAT IS A REGISTERED DIETITIAN?
Dietitians are medical nutritional experts, the only nutrition professionals who are governed by law meaning they are highly regulated in a similar way to Doctors. They translate nutritional research into practical advice that helps people who are healthy or unwell and usually work in clinical settings like hospitals or guide government healthy policies or advise the food industry. Dietitians train for many years and have to undertake continued professional development to keep the title of "Dietitian" - seeing a Dietitian means you'll receive the highest quality of nutrition advice.
For more information, the British Dietitian Association made a helpful information booklet.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU TAKE?
Online card payments are made through a secure system, you can pay the full amount or just the deposit. Online bank transfers are also possible; these details will be sent once we've arranged your appointment.
If a deposit is paid online, the remainder can be paid in cash or with our card reader at the appointment or via bank transfer after the session.
Ask a Dietitian is also registered with Aviva, AXA and Vitality private health insurance providers, however not everyone's policy covers Dietitians so please check with your provider before arranging your appointment.
WHAT IS YOUR BOOKING POLICY?
A deposit must be made to secure your booking, this is half the appointment fee and will be counted towards the total cost. Deposits and full payments can be refunded up to 12 hours before the appointment, if payment was made via Stripe, please discuss with myself. Refunds may be given in other exceptional circumstances - but this is at my discretion.
DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING BEFORE THE SESSION?
I'VE NEVER SEEN A DIETITIAN, IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
A couple of forms and a food diary will be emailed to you before the appointment and these must be emailed back at least 24 hours before the session. The forms will help to save time in the session so you get a higher quality service for your money.
Please also bring/email relevant documents like GP letters, blood test results etc. as this will help to more accurately assess you and tailor your dietary care plan.
Dietitians are the only qualified diet experts who can assess, diagnose and treat nutrition-related diseases. If you are struggling with your nutrition we are the specialists to see to give you the confidence you'll get results, but also the level of care you need. Ask a Dietitian Ltd. was created to give people the services and flexibility to support them with their nutrition goals outside of restrictive programmes and hospital policies; all care is uniquely planned for you.
